Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to list a horse?
Listing on Bridleway is free during our beta — there are no listing fees and no monthly plans. Direct sales carry no commission. A flat 1.5% platform commission applies only to sales completed through our optional escrow service, deducted from the seller's payout — and your first escrow sale is commission-free.
What is the transaction commission?
Bridleway charges a flat 1.5% platform commission only on sales completed through our optional escrow service, deducted from the seller's payout — for example, on a $10,000 escrow sale the seller receives $9,850. Your first escrow sale is commission-free, and direct sales closed between you and the buyer carry no commission at all. There is no fee to list.
How do I know if a seller is trustworthy?
Look for verified seller badges, keep communication on our secure in-app messaging, and use our optional escrow service for added protection. We verify seller identities (email and phone) and review every listing before it goes live.
Can I list horses from other marketplaces?
We aggregate listings from trusted external marketplaces for browsing, but creating a listing on Bridleway requires you to have direct ownership or authorization to sell the horse.
How does the escrow service work?
Bridleway offers an optional escrow service — a flat $59.99, and free on rescue listings. The buyer's funds are held securely until they complete a pre-purchase inspection (PPE) and confirm the horse; funds are released to the seller only after the inspection passes. Sales of $10,000 or more add SMS identity verification for extra security.
Are there special terms for horse rescues?
Yes. Verified rescue organizations sell with no platform commission, and the $59.99 escrow fee is waived on rescue listings — escrow is completely free. Rescues can apply for verification from our Rescues page.
Why am I asked for extra identity verification on a high-value purchase?
For added security on transactions of $10,000 or more, buyers complete an extra layer of identity verification — including confirming a phone number via SMS — before escrow funds can be approved. This protects both parties on large purchases.
How does Bridleway use cookies, and how do I manage my preferences?
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site secure, and — only with your consent — Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. On your first visit a banner lets you Accept or Reject analytics, or open 'Manage preferences' to toggle analytics on or off; nothing analytics-related loads until you accept. You can change your choice anytime using the 'Cookie Settings' link in the footer. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I delete my account or personal data?
You can delete your account anytime from your account settings, or submit a data-deletion request under GDPR and CCPA from our Data Deletion page. Some records — such as completed-transaction history required for tax reporting — are retained where the law requires; see our Privacy Policy for specifics.
